October 19, 2021: The ALD Alliance was awarded the Aetna "Rising Star" award for our work in helping to save babies through newborn screening. Thank you to Cerini & Associates for creating this beautiful event. The NYC Imagine Awards was created to offer formal acknowledgement to some of NYC metro’s most effective and innovative nonprofit organizations. The success of the Long Island Imagine Awards, inspired founder Ken Cerini, CPA, Cerini & Associates LLP, to bring this innovative and inspiring event to NYC to shine a spotlight on the incredible nonprofits in and around the city.
November 20 - November 21, 2021: The Alex TLC Digital Community Weekend brings together leukodystrophy sufferers and their families, alongside doctors, researchers and scientists from around the world to discuss how leukodystrophies affect them and to build long lasting and supportive relationships. Register here.
November 20, 2021: Run for ALD, Cure the Boys 5K run and 1 mile walk is a homegrown event and the only one of its kind in Missouri. Through this event and other opportunities, they raise awareness of ALD and raise funds to support life-saving research at the University of Minnesota, one of the largest transplant centers in the world and a leader of ALD Research. The University of Minnesota Leukodystrophy Center is working to identify the cause and predictors of active cerebral ALD in order to better diagnose and improve treatment for boys fighting adrenoleukodystrophy in the hopes of one day finding a cure.
