It was an honor to accept the Rising Star award at The Inaugural NYC Imagine Awards earlier this week at the beautiful Edison Ballroom in the heart of Times Square. The hustle and bustle of the city that we love is back and it felt wonderful to be able to connect in person with so many inspiring people. The NYC Imagine Awards was created to offer formal acknowledgement to some of NYC metro's most effective and innovative nonprofit organizations. Thank you to founder Ken Cerini of Cerini & Associates for bringing this innovative and inspiring event to NYC and congratulations to all of the nominees.
"I'm grateful to be nominated for this award and to be here tonight. Our work is to try to help prevent what happened to my son; losing him to a condition that could have been treated if he was diagnosed at birth. We've made tremendous strides in that. We have 23 states that are now screening and we're working on a federal initiative to ensure that all babies born in this country have the same chance at a normal, healthy life. It should not depend on the state that they live in. I'm so grateful for everyone that voted for us and made this possible. This is for my son, Aidan, who is my hero and keeps me going."

More than 270 entries were submitted for consideration in 5 categories, including Innovation, Leadership Excellence, Rising Star, Social Impact and Arts & Culture. Finalists were chosen by NYC business and nonprofit professionals during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Distinguished Judging Panel selected the NYC Imagine Awards winners from among the Finalists during final judging.
“While this was our inaugural event in NYC, the energy was so high, the collaboration and sharing was so heartfelt, and the love and compassion was so overwhelming, it was a
tremendous experience to be around so many incredible organizations,” said Ken Cerini, the Imagine Awards Founder and Managing Partner of Cerini & Associates, LLP. “We truly got to shine the light on some of the best that the NY City nonprofit community has to offer, hear their stories, and bring the sector together for the night ... it was definitely moving.”
